New York! New York! A List of Design Things to See

This week I'm celebrating my birthday a little bit early with a trip to NYC. I've never been in the Winter, so I'm starting my list of "indoor places to see cool design things" a little early. I've never been a fan of huge museums and exhibitions (...the Louvre, kill me!), and find that smaller galleries and boutiques are much more intimate and relatable.

Here's what's on my list to see this trip.
Check out these places and online shops for pretty handmade things:

Artists & Fleas Market

NYC Craft Market

This market has multiple locations in Chelsea Market, Soho, Williamsburg, and apparently in Venice, CA which I somehow missed? In every location you'll find independent handmade, fashion and vintage vendors in a unique marketplace setting open every week.

Chango & Co

NYC interior design

An interior design shop that also sells a bunch of stuff on their site (score!) is a neutral lover's paradise. They sell a lot of natural fabrics with mudcloth and batik prints sewn into pretty pillows.

Greenwich Letterpress

NYC Card

This cute Manhattan shop has a zillion letterpress (and non-letterpress) cards, stationary, and they also make wedding invites. Letterpress is a form of printmaking that I have zero experience with, which is maybe why it's so fascinating to me. You can buy all the things in their online shop too!

Tictail Market
A clothing shop for men and women that also has home furnishings and a ton of artwork by artists from all over the world? Yes please. I love the style of this place with it's crazy eclectic vibe. Be sure to check out their website if you're looking for one of a kind artwork.
Adorable puppy aside, how great are these rugs? Designed in Brooklyn, but handmade in India, any of these would make a fantastic statement piece in your home. A modern take on a traditional style. You can also find a lot more like bedding, furniture and vintage on their site.

Know of any good design spots in NYC?
Let me know in the comments so I can scope 'em <3
